Toddler Time!

I can use a fork and spoon!

Avi has really turned the corner into toddlerhood! He's running everywhere, and frequently getting into trouble. (Getting stuck places, falling over stuff, grabbing things he shouldn't have, etc.) Tantrums are the new norm, because he's developed a very good memory!

Ex: If you take away the electric plug he wants to chew on, he'll remember where you hid it and scream and cry for 15 minutes, pointing and trying to take it back!

So redirection is the name of the game! Along with the new moodiness, however, has come a lot of super fun learning. Avi has a new word ("car"), to go along with his Hot Wheels obsession. He is talking up a storm in general, and his babbling sounds an awful lot like real sentences now! Zach and I can actually understand him, at least half the time.

Ex:

Avi: "Alsdjf ajskldfjao lsakjf aslkdfj Dada!"

Mama: "You want to go with Dada?"

Avi: "Yeah." (Toddles off to grab dada's legs.)

And yes, he does say "yeah!"

He's growing up so fast. He's very tall, though he's losing a lot of his baby pudge. He's quite the picky eater, and will only eat the exact right food at the exact right time. His bones are still made of lead (27 pounds!), but his six pack stomach is developing nicely! He's so excited by the world. It's just amazing to watch. Today at the park, he was delighted by the teenagers climbing the tree, the three different dogs he played with, the 4 year old girls playing tag, and the whole universe around him.

I love being his mom. But I sure am tired!

What moron introduced Avi to Hot Wheels? Be careful, they are like legos....they lurk on the floor in the middle of the night, waiting to reach out and try to kill you. If you don't die from the pain of stepping on one, you'll probably hit it just right and go flying across the room on those little wheels.

I can't believe how big he's gotten, what a cutie! And someday my own son who is a year older than yours, might weigh 27 pounds...
